A conference in the brewing room, a brainstorming session or incentive in the tasting room, a presentation in the bottling plant: the Conference Center of Maisel & Friends in Bayreuth offers innovative premises with a historical touch and state-of-the-art equipment that are ideal for business events of all kinds. Entertaining and informative supporting programmes in Maisel's beer experience world, the "Liebesbier" restaurant and a stylish hotel make every event there unique and the subject of beer can be experienced with all senses.
Business meets beer
Upper Franconia is the world champion when it comes to beer production. Nowhere on the entire globe is the density of breweries greater than in Bavaria's northwesternmost district. Since 1887 and for a total of four generations a constant in the industry is the brewery Gebr. Maisel in Bayreuth, which until 1974 produced exclusively on the company premises in the district of Roter Hügel. With the construction of new facilities, however, the art of brewing by no means disappeared from the original location, quite the contrary. Extraordinary locations for events have now been created here under the Maisel & Friends brand, to which the beer motto lends a very special and authentic atmosphere.
Maisel & Friends: Unique event location above Bayreuth's Old Town
When you stroll across the Maisel brewery grounds above the old town of Bayreuth, you sometimes feel like you're on the campus of a dignified university that has nevertheless arrived in the modern age, with old brick buildings, alongside modern architecture and a state-of-the-art coffee factory.
Right in the middle of the stimulating atmosphere: the "Conference Center" with its rooms for business and corporate events. All locations captivate with their extraordinary individual ambience, are designed with attention to detail and equipped with state-of-the-art technology. "We prefer to restore the old brewery buildings rather than build new ones, because that is honest and authentic," says Michael Feuerstein, Managing Director of Maisel & Friends.
Special conferences in the Brausaal
Among other things, there is the brewing hall, where barley juice was still matured not so long ago. "You can still feel and smell the beer there today," says Feuerstein about the room, which is kept in elegant industrial chic and can be ideally used for larger meetings or presentations. And indeed: amid the brick walls, steel pipes and roughly plastered ceiling, you can vividly imagine the rows of barrels in which Maisel products matured.
Events between modernity and a nostalgic look
Old bottlers, advertising posters from earlier decades, rustic ceiling lamps, furniture in dark wood. Even where beer was once put into bottles and barrels and then sent on its journey, meetings are now held in a very special ambience. The distillery and bottling rooms tell of times gone by with many historical details. An American bar in the nostalgic look of the 50s and 60s provides international flair.
Tasteful brainstorming in the tasting room, hybrid meetings in the broadcast studio
First meet, then taste: if you want to follow up a small group brainstorming session or team event with a beer tasting, the tasting room is the place to be. The room has 12 seats in a cool industrial design, plus a taproom where you can quench your thirst right after an engaging debate.
The latest technology and the traditional charm of the brewery meet in the Broadcast Studio, which was set up in 2022. Here, a dedicated production team assists with digital and hybrid events as well as film and video shoots.
After Work Programme: ProBier Tours
There is a subtle smell of lubricating oil as you pass the imposing steam engine. The gleaming copper kettles in the brewhouse and the tools on the walls also look as if they had just been in operation. The guided tours offered through the old brewhouse or the modern brewing workshop, where beer is still produced every day, tell vividly about the art of brewing. Beer seminars are also very popular as a social programme for groups and corporate clients. Together with one of the beer sommeliers, international creations are tasted alongside delicious Maisel beers and other Bayreuth beer hotspots are visited.
Smart and creative. International and regional at the same time: the Liebesbier Urban Art Hotel and Restaurant
It can only be a good omen for a business event if the accommodation is smart and creative. In the Liebesbier Urban Art Hotel, which is located directly on the former brewery site, visitors can sleep in 67 rooms under unique, colourful murals. Each of them was designed especially for the hotel by one of 50 international street artists. The "smart" thing about the hotel: the mobile self-check-in or the room doors that can be opened with a mobile phone. High-speed fibre-optic network and smart TVs included, of course.
A lot of modern art also hangs on the historic brick walls of the Liebesbier restaurant directly opposite the hotel. Stylish urban art nooks alternate with brewery flair. The dishes on the menu are international, the ingredients regional. And, with over 100 beers in stock, you'll find Bayreuth's largest beer selection here.
Everything from one source
From gastronomy and accommodation to event organisation at Maisel & Friends everything comes from a single source. Even bread, rolls and the like are made in-house. The next highlight: according to managing director Feuerstein, a "transparent bakery" will soon be built in the former malt house, where grain used to be processed into malt. There, guests will be able to experience traditional bakery work live, from making the dough to baking. In a building where old brickwork meets modern furnishings and technology, the typical Maisel mixture that makes events there so special.
